Terms of use

Effective Oct 26, 2026 · Version 1.0

In short: Slabfolio is a free tool to track graded collectibles. Values are estimates for information, not advice. Your data stays yours, and you can export it or delete your account at any time. Be fair to others and to the service.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

1.1 Slabfolio (slabfolio.app, the “service”) is operated by Max-Hermann Hoek, individual entrepreneur (OSVČ), IČO 17184576, Revoluční 1082/8, 110 00 Praha 1 – Nové Město, Czech Republic (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@slabfolio.app.

1.2 These terms apply to the use of Slabfolio with an account. Without an account (guest or demo mode), sections 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 11 and 14 apply accordingly.

1.3 The service and these terms are in English. The German version is a translation that we keep identical in content.

2. What Slabfolio is

2.1 Slabfolio helps you record graded trading cards and graded video games (“slabs”), see estimated values and track your collection over time.

2.2 We calculate values from completed sales of the same item with the same grader and grade, where such sales are available to us. Where they aren't, we show a clearly labelled estimate or no value.

2.3 Some screens show sample data, for example in the demo. It is labelled “Sample data”, and those values are examples, not market prices.

3. Values are information, not advice

3.1 Values, prices, charts, gains and other figures in Slabfolio are estimates for your information. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, not an appraisal or valuation for insurance or tax purposes, and not an offer or recommendation to buy or sell anything.

3.2 Values depend on third-party data (for example sales records, grading databases and exchange rates). This data can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and past sales don't predict future prices. We check our sources carefully but can't guarantee that any figure is accurate, complete or current.

3.3 Check important figures yourself before you make a decision, for example before buying, selling or insuring an item.

4. Your account

4.1 You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4.2 Please give a valid email address and keep your password secret. Each account is for one person. Tell us at security@slabfolio.app if you think someone else has used your account.

4.3 If you received an invite link, the same terms apply. The person who invited you sees only that someone signed up through their link, not who.

5. Free of charge

5.1 Slabfolio is currently free. You don't need to enter payment details.

5.2 We may offer optional paid features in the future. They will be clearly marked, covered by separate terms, and you'll only pay if you explicitly order them. If a feature you use today becomes paid, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance.

6. Your content

6.1 Everything you add to Slabfolio (holdings, prices, notes and so on) remains yours.

6.2 You allow us to store, process, back up and display your content to the extent necessary to provide the service to you. You also allow us to compile anonymous statistics that don't identify you (for example the total number of slabs tracked on Slabfolio). This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for anonymous statistics and backups, which are overwritten within 14 days.

6.3 You are responsible for making sure you're allowed to add your content, and that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights.

6.4 How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy policy.

7. Fair use

When you use Slabfolio, please don't:

  • break the law or infringe the rights of others, for example by uploading images you don't have the rights to;
  • misrepresent items, grades or cert numbers to deceive others;
  • access the service with bots, scrapers or other automated means beyond normal personal use, or try to get around rate limits;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the service, except under our Security policy;
  • interfere with the service or other users, or pretend to be someone else.

8. Reports, moderation and your options (Digital Services Act)

8.1 Anyone can report content they consider illegal at slabfolio.app/report or abuse@slabfolio.app. We confirm receipt, review the report carefully and objectively, and tell the reporter what we decided.

8.2 If content or an account breaks the law or these terms, we may remove or disable the content, restrict features, or suspend or close the account. We choose the mildest effective measure. Decisions are made by a person; we don't use automated moderation.

8.3 If we restrict your content or account, we tell you what we did, why, which rule or law it's based on, and how you can challenge the decision. You can reply to our message to ask us to review it. You can also go to court.

9. Availability and changes to the service

9.1 We work to keep Slabfolio available and secure, but as a free service it has no guaranteed availability. Maintenance, updates or disruptions at our providers can interrupt it.

9.2 We develop Slabfolio continuously and may change, add or remove features. We'll give you reasonable notice before removing features that are important to you, and you can always export your data first.

10. Intellectual property

10.1 The Slabfolio software, design and texts are ours or licensed to us. You may use them only to use the service.

10.2 Names, logos and images of games, cards, graders, marketplaces and other third parties belong to their owners. We use them only to identify items and sources. Slabfolio isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them (see the Legal notice). Rights holders can reach us at abuse@slabfolio.app.

11. Liability

11.1 We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under mandatory product liability law, and within the scope of any guarantee we have given.

11.2 For damage caused by slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an obligation whose fulfilment is essential for the proper performance of this contract and on which you may regularly rely (an essential obligation). In that case, our liability is limited to the damage that was foreseeable and typical for this type of contract when it was concluded.

11.3 Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

11.4 Section 3 describes what the service provides. We are not responsible for decisions you make on the basis of figures shown in Slabfolio, unless section 11.1 or 11.2 applies.

11.5 Mandatory statutory provisions that don't allow liability towards consumers to be limited remain unaffected.

12. Ending the contract

12.1 You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account in Settings › Account. This also works within the first 14 days, and it costs nothing.

12.2 We can end the contract with 30 days' notice by email. We can close an account immediately if there is an important reason, especially a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if the law requires it. We'll explain our reasons (section 8.3).

12.3 If we shut down Slabfolio entirely, we'll tell you at least 60 days in advance so you can export your data.

13. Changes to these terms

13.1 We may update these terms, for example when the law or the service changes. We'll tell you about changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect.

13.2 If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll ask you to accept it when you next sign in. If you don't accept, you can export your data and delete your account, or we may end the contract under section 12.2.

14. Applicable law, courts and disputes

14.1 These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of that country.

14.2 If you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live or in the Czech Republic. We can bring proceedings against you only in the country where you live.

14.3 If we can't resolve a complaint together, consumers can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce) for out-of-court resolution: adr.coi.cz. If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help.

15. Final provisions

15.1 If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains valid.

15.2 Questions about these terms: hello@slabfolio.app.

Previous versions: none yet. Version 1.0 is the first.
